City of Dundee 100/200 Meet - 2005

Stirling had 24 swimmers competing at the City of Dundee Open on Saturday collecting six medals. Jade Williams swam superbly to collect two gold medals in the 13/14 years 100m Butterfly and 200m Backstroke. She was also just beaten into second place in the 200m Individual Medley and finished fourth in the 100m Breaststroke Final.

Best swim of the day went to Katrina Laidlaw who broke the Meet Record in the 11/12 years 200m Butterfly, swimming a superb 3.08.36. Carol Roberts finished second in the same race making it a 1-2 for Stirling. Carol also set a personal best (PB) in the 100m Freestyle to reach the final finishing 6^th overall.

Katie McKenna swam a great 5 second PB to reach the 11/12 100m Backstroke Final and also finished 6^th overall. Special mention must go to Louise Williams who drove straight to the Meet from the airport arriving from a delayed overnight flight. Despite tiredness she had a great swim in the 15+years 200m Backstroke to finish in the medals in 3^rd place.

Other notable swims came from Kayleigh McGurk 4^th in the 13/14 years 200m Backstroke, Andrew Loudon 5^th in the 13/14 years 200m Backstroke and Blair Dick 6^th in the 11/12 years 200m Butterfly. Most of the other Stirling Swimmers achieved good PB times reflecting all the hard work put in at training.
