Scottish Short Course 6-7-8 January 2006
Stirling Swimming Club had its biggest entry yet with 30 swimmers competing in this top class gala. Swimmers Jade Williams and Stephanie Hanley both swam superbly to win their overall age group trophies. Martin Cremin was top Stirling boy with a 3rd place in the 200m Freestyle and 5th in the 100m Butterfly final. Morven Bruce and Genna Doctor also reached their 100m Breaststroke Finals both finishing in 6th place. Rebecca Brewster had a brilliant 7 second personal best in the 100m breaststroke and was 1st reserve for the final. Other swimmers who gained valuable experience in their first gala of this quality included Lauren Burns, Ciara MacAleenan, Amy Cameron, Fiona King, Chloe Stickland, Laura Kelly, Daniel Morrison, James Dodds and David Kelly. A huge thank-you must go to the main sponsor Stirling Medical Innovations whose Managing Director Robert Hutchison presented prizes along with local MSP Sylvia Jackson. Other local companies sponsored individual races and many thanks for their support. Thanks also to all parent helpers and officials for their significant donations and hard work over this very successful weekend.
