Scottish Schools Swimming Success

A number of Stirling ASC swimmers took part in the Scottish Schools regional time trials in January with the fastest twenty swimmers from all over Scotland qualifying to take part in the Championship at Tollcross. Five Stirling swimmers qualified for the event which was held last weekend.

Jade Williams finished her 100m Butterfly heat in 5th place and swam superbly in the final knocking a second of her time to finish 3rd. Stephanie Hanley also finished 3rd in the 100m Backstroke final losing out on the silver medal by only 0.03 seconds. Rosie Ogg swam a great PB in the 100m Freestyle final and was unlucky to be beaten into 4th place just 0.92 seconds behind the winner. Rosie had the consolation of being the first swimmer from the club to achieve a qualifying time for the British Youth Championships to be held in Sheffield in August. Genna Doctor swam well despite a knee injury to finish 13th in the 100m Breaststroke. Stuart Gillespie also qualified for the championship but was unable to compete following illness.
