JAGS Meet 11 February 2006
The morning session was dedicated to the younger age group the 8/9 years old, and we had three swimmers, Scott MacArthur, Andrew Roberts and Mhari Dick. Scott took silver in the 50m breast and came 4th in 25m fly and 100m IM. All three swimmers did very well with PBs in most events.
The afternoon session was for the 10/11 years old, and Stirling arrived with
a strong team comprising of 12 swimmers, Craig Coull, Garath Allen, Rachael
Bond, James Dodds, Chloe Strickland, Anna MacDaid, Ciara McAleenam, David Kelly,
Daniel Morrison, Lucy Brunton, Nikoline Laidlaw and Nicole Govan. What a
performance they all showed, nearly all swims
Speeding tickets were issued to Gareth who took 10 seconds of his 50m butterfly, Chloe who took 4 secs on her 50m butterfly, Craig with nearly 4 secs of his 50m breaststroke, Nikoline Laidlaw with nearly 13 sec of her 100 IM and Nicole Govan with an amazing 18 secs off her 100IM. The climax of the day was the freestyle relays where the boys Craig, David, James and Gareth just clinched the gold for Stirling with a brilliant swim from all swimmers and a time of 2:31.29 just beating Cumbernauld by 0.46sec, after this the girls were out to show they could match the boys performance and they showed they were up to the task and finished a clear winner of Gold with a time of 2:29.59. Though the medals had been flowing freely in the afternoon we were still surprised to learn that Stirling ASC had won the best club of the day. Well done to all swimmers.
